E-commerce companies have proposed clarification from the government of Karnataka on weekend procedures at the time of partial lockdown in Karnataka.

The BS Yeddyurappa headed the Karnataka administration to maintain in putting out a delicate set of covid-related regulations in the state, practically at 9:00 pm Wednesday for two weeks. While a night curfew will be implemented from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am on weekdays, weekends will behold an entire curfew.

As per Annexure 1A of the methods, e-commerce and extra home deliveries are facilitated at the night curfew on weekdays. However, there is no statement of e-commerce in Annexure 1B that elements the strategies for the weekend restrictions. Annexure 1B clearly announces, “home delivery of important commodities shall be facilitated minimize movement of people outside their homes" during the weekend lockdown.

This has developed a Maharashtra-type of the circumstance for e-commerce companies as they are oblivious about what according to the administration comprises "essentials" and "non-essentials”.

"Can e-commerce continue to cater to the needs of customers in the protection of their residences on weekends," an administrator at an e-commerce company inquired.

With governments enabling work-from-home till the pandemic, computers and peripherals have evolved crucial methods for specialists, but the announcements are quiet about these.
